Drinks In Weight Loss Programs
July 18, 2010 by secretslimming
One of the neglected aspects of weight loss programs is the fluid we drink. Many people have embarked on a diet and successfully lost weight, but few people maintain the weight loss and very quickly put the weight back on. So how do you make weight loss programs a permanent part of your lifestyle? How do you maintain weight loss while still enjoying food?
First you need to make sure that do not wait to eat until you are hungry. When you do this you tend to overeat, or you will snack later on if you try to control the amount of food you eat when you are very hungry. To prevent overeating you should be eating every three hours. Your cells absorb water easily, and this is especially important after exercising.
Snacking has negative connotations when you are thinking of weight loss plans, but this is not necessarily true. For example if you eat in social settings where everyone eats unhealthy meals, or eat quickly while in the car or on the go.
Replace your old snacks with healthy alternatives; some examples of healthy snacks include fruits, nuts, low fat yogurts, and smoothies. Avoid junk foods and comfort foods throughout the day and you will find that your weight loss plans are working better.
Once you have accessed these aspects of your eating habits you can then make the adjustments you need to your lifestyle. One way to get your daily fluid intake up is to drink fruit or herbal teas that are decaffeinated. You can also educate yourself about the types of foods you should order when eating out if you don’t eat at home. Passing on fries and other unnecessary sides is also another way to survive eating out.
Making your family a part of your weight loss program is another way for you to stay on the wagon. A cup or two of coffee a day is perfectly fine, in fact this will not negatively affect your weight loss plans. The support of family and friends is invaluable to maintaining healthy weight loss plans. Start by making sure your kitchen is outfitted with essential cooking utensils before starting any new weight loss plans.
Make an effort to learn about new foods and cuisines when starting weight loss programs. This will keep you from getting bored with the foods you are eating and stop you from ‘cheating’ on your weight loss program. The best way to make weight loss plans a part of your life is to take everything one step at a time. If you have to drink during your meal be sure to sip and not gulp your water.
