Why Should I Lose Some Fat?
May 15, 2010 by secretslimming · Leave a Comment
“More die in the United States of too much food than of too little.”
~John Kenneth Galbraith, The Affluent Society
When we are born, our body is made of muscles and some fat. When we are growing up, why is it that our body develops more fat? Is fat important? Of course it is! But why should we lose some fat?
“One should eat to live, not live to eat.” ~Cicero,Rhetoricorum LV
According to the Prevalence and Trends in Obesity Among US Adults, 1999-2008, in 2007-2008, the prevalence of obesity was 32.2% among adult men and 35.5% among adult women. The increases in the prevalence of obesity previously observed do not appear to be continuing at the same rate over the past 10 years, particularly for women and possibly for men.
This shows that there is still hope for those fat, if not obese people to actually lose some weight and get the beautiful body everyone desires.
Here are some good and practical reasons why you should lose some fat:
1. Sexy is in, fat is out
Have you experienced walking with some sexy gals and you know that you are not that sexy?
Who do the boys notice first? This is to be frank, surely not the fat gal. It takes some good humor or attitude before the fat gal can be noticed. But if your body is, say, sexy, every boy will take a second glance at you.
“The one way to get thin is to re-establish a purpose in life.” ~Cyril Connolly, The Unquiet Grave
2. Sexy is healthy
Yes, it is. Being sexy means your internal organs are not suffering from pressure where fat people’s organs do. Your heart pumps and works twice as hard to deliver the needed oxygen to your body parts when you are fat. The fats which surround your heart and other body organs make the circulation process slower.
3. Fat people cannot move around like sexy people do
A fat woman cannot pass through a small passage way easily. You know why, because she is fat! Sometimes, people can even make you a laughing stock because of your being fat. This is very self-demeaning.
4. Fat people don’t have the same confidence sexy people have
Are you fat? Yes, can’t you see?! Are you sexy? Yes I am! Can you see the difference of the way the answers are delivered? Not everyone can see any beauty of being fat. That is, we are talking about body-wise comments.
When you consider losing some fat, consider establishing your purpose. Your purpose to have the sexy you wanted ever since you watch fashion TV and wished you can wear those sexy clothes.
Rapid Weight Loss: 3 Reasons You Should Be Concerned
March 20, 2010 by secretslimming · Leave a Comment
Some people become impatient as they try to lose weight. This causes them to make critical decisions about rapid weight loss!
Rapid weight loss is a strategy where people try to shed pounds very quickly. This is also known as fast weight loss or quick weight loss.
Several factors come into play when a person decides to try this approach. Things such as upcoming weddings, vacations, family reunions, anniversaries, and so on, get people thinking about their appearance and losing weight quickly.
Rapid weight loss can lead to health problems that many people do not consider. Let’s look at the three reasons you should be concerned about rapid weight loss.
1. Some people attempt to fast as a way to quickly lose weight. This can lead to severe health problems if you are not careful.
For example if you suffer from heart disease fasting can take a toll on your heart. It can lead to changes in blood pressure which can cause stroke or even heart attacks.
A better approach is to cut back on the amount of food you are eating or make changes to the type of food you’re eating. Even limiting your calories a little bit will help you to lose a few pounds.
2. Although you may not get the quick results you want, exercise is a good start as well. This is more of a long term approach, but if you do start exercising do not try to overdo it initially.
If it’s been a while since you’ve had a physical you need to go in and have that done before you take on exercise such as treadmills, jogging, or biking.
3. Many people will start taking weight loss products when they haven’t done so before. Although these products may work, to be safe it’s something to discuss with your physician if you are taking medications for other ailments.
At the very least you should research everything about the diet product you are considering taking to see if there are any warnings you should be aware of.
If you have any doubts do not start taking diet pills until you have had it confirmed that it’s okay to do so by your doctor. The risks to your health are just not worth the rewards!
In summary in this article we have tried to give you some things to consider on the topic of rapid weight loss. Losing weight quickly is not all that it’s cracked up to be.
However losing weight in a controlled and normal way is something everyone can benefit from. Whether you take diet pills, or just try to do it by eating healthy and increasing your exercise, meeting with your physician is the most important first step!
I Just Lost 11 lbs of Bodyfat On Vacation!
January 24, 2010 by secretslimming · Leave a Comment
[ Note: I really liked this post from my friend Jon Benson fitness and nutrition author Jon Benson and i hope you enjoy reading it as well]
It was the weirdest thing …
I mean, I’ve been around you know? I’ve had just about every body and fatloss experience you can think of… the good, the bad, the ugly…
… and now the really bizarre.
Here’s the story:
I took off on an 8-day cruise to the Caribbean. This was a “business” cruise (yeah, right)… and I knew there was no way to eat the way I prefer to eat. At least not ideally. After that I had to speak in Tampa Florida at a fitness summit, then off to Las Vegas for yet another summit meeting.
All-in-all I was gone for almost three weeks.
First thing that I knew had to go was my “ideal” dietplan.
That’s my “Extreme” Plan on the Every Other Day Dietplan…
There are three plans in EODD: The Primer Plan, which is literally “every other day”. You get to eat your favorite foods within reason every other day or so on this Plan. It’s perfect for folks who ‘hate’ dieting because, let’s face it, anyone can diet-for a day, right? Right.
Then there’s the Lifestyle Plans. These are two days of “burn eating” followed by a day of eating favorite foods. Most people use this because it too is so simple to use.
Then for we athletes and fitness pros there’s the Extreme Plan. This is for ultimate bodyfat loss and muscle-shaping. I love this plan.
But hey… it’s a vacation. And so I decided to eat on the Primer Plan… remember, that’s every other day. So every other day on the cruise I had a small dessert (sometimes two), pizza, or pasta… whatever I wanted within reason. The days before I did perfectly, substituting my morning shake for egg white omelets with a bit of cheese and a lot of veggies. Yum!
Within three days I had LOST more than 4 lbs… or about 2 kg. Pure fat… well, a bit of water I suppose, but mostly that stubborn bodyfat around my middle that’s the last to go.
What the heck was going on?
Wait… the story gets better…
I move on to Tampa, and then Vegas, and now I’m 11 lbs (about 5 kg) down. My jeans ALL require a belt, only this time it’s not a fashion statement.
Frankly, I’m as surprised as you may be.
But I figured out why this happened. And I want to share it with you so you can use EODD (or another plan if you want… but mine is the best… : ) when you go on vacation or take a break.
Here’s why I dropped the last bit of my bodyfat:
First, I was on a VERY large cruise ship. I knew my weight training would not be as intense (the weights were not that heavy) but I also knew I could just make it work… train a bit more and go for the “pump”… just a good, quick workout. I ended up training 5 days on the cruise without a problem (and only ONE day of cardio for 20 minutes… you see, you do NOT need cardio to dump bodyfat!)
But the difference was in the WALKING. The ship was the largest ever built… the size of 2.5 football fields. And I walked everywhere… on the islands, on the boat, even to every meal. Just walking burned off FAR more calories than my normal lifestyle, which like most of you has a lot of sitting down to it. ; )
Walking… my favorite “Cardio” to this very day.

My Supplement Tricks

Second, I took extra potassium, along with all of my Radical Fatloss Blueprint Supplements. I carried them all on board.
You can read more about the supplements I take for “radical” fatloss here:
www.radicalfatlossblueprint.com
The two that really did the trick for me was the Aqualize (also known as Acquacil), only 1-2 a day, along with the amino acids.
Finally, I realized that I need MORE food than I’m eating now in order to increase my metabolic rate. Just a bit… about 400 calories a day more than I have been eating. Doing just that rebooted my metabolic rate and presto… 11 lbs of bodyfat and useless water is history. My abs have never looked better.
I hope this gives you some encouragement when it comes to being on the road or on vacation. With the right plan (like EODD and Radical Fatloss) you can actually improve your body…
… and best of all, I enjoyed every minute of my vacation!
P.S. An important note was that I made a decision not to drink on the cruise or elsewhere. I had one small glass of wine last night to celebrate with my largest affiliate and business comrade. He flew in from Israel just for this meeting, and it was the least i could do. Roei and I had a blast all day.
The reason drinking is a problem is that alcohol shuts down fat-burning for several hours… sometimes longer. But a glass of wine or two a week is not going to hurt you. I just made that one small “sacrifice” so I could enjoy ice cream, pizza (I ate four slices one night at 3:00am and woke up leaner!) and all the yummy food the boat had to offer.
So, my final tip: Make a decision to cut out just ONE thing when you’re on the road. Alcohol was easy for me as I do not drink that much as it is.
