- Eliminate junk food, and replace with healthier snacks. Potato chips, cookies, candy- these are all tasty, but are packed with calories. However, you really can replace them with healthier alternatives without sacrificing the taste.
A good replacement for the chips is popcorn, popped the old-fashioned way (stay away from the microwave stuff). Popcorn lightly salted with very little butter can eliminate the craving for chips and is actually healthy.
A great replacement for cookies or candy bars is fresh strawberries dipped in melted dark chocolate. Again, these have some good nutritional value and taste great! Get creative and replace the junk with some good stuff.
- Exercise, start dancing again. Walking, riding a bike, swimming, etc, are great, but have you considered dancing? It’s a great interactive exercise to do with your partner or a friend, a great way to meet new people, if you wish, and can help you burn 600-800 calories an hour.
Whatever you end up doing, make it a priority to exercise at least 30-60 minutes per day with some type of exercise that is fairly vigorous. If you stay consistent with an exercise program each week, you will definitely see some positive improvements quickly.

- Watch what you drink. Speaking of water, if you’re not drinking 8-10 glasses (8 oz.) of water each day, you’re missing out on a golden opportunity to aid in quick weight loss. In addition, drinking soda, fruit drinks, fancy Starbucks drinks, etc, adds tons of calories because of the high sugar content. If you can eliminate these completely, or cut way back, it will make a big difference.
