Diet Programs – Don’t Overcomplicate It
November 19, 2010 by secretslimming · Leave a Comment
There are many diet programs out there promising to help you lose weight fast and easily.
Some of them work very well and others are not as effective. But here’s a diet program which is effective and easy to follow.
Basically the way in which you lose weight is by taking in fewer calories than your body burns up. That is the premise of every major diet program out there. So to keep things simple, you need to follow a program which accomplishes this.
So stick with a low calorie healthy diet. This means eating plenty of healthy vegetables, lean meats, and low calorie beverages. In addition stay away from foods with high fats and sugars.
Just remember that if you eat a lot of salads, avoid dressings which are high in fat and calories. Otherwise you defeat the purpose of eating these vegetables. So make a nice salad with plenty of leafy greens and a low calorie and low fat dressing.
If you need a snack, then eating raw carrots or celery is a great idea. They are very low in calories and are good for you. Celery is great snack since it tends to fill you up and has almost no calories at all.
For main courses, lean chicken or fish is a great meal. Add vegetables and perhaps a baked potato with little or no butter or sour cream.
Add some moderate exercise like walking and soon you’ll be on well your way to losing the weight you desire.

3 Weight Loss Super Foods

Wouldn’t it have been nice if you could lose weight by eating?
Now, your wish is about to come true. In this article I will tell you of three such foods that will help you lose weight. Sounds too good to be true? Well, just read on to understand what I mean!
1. Lean meats:
Lean chicken meat is one of the best weight loss foods you can ever have! Why? It contains a lot of amount of protein and very little fat, and as you know, protein will build lean muscles. Lean muscles will help you burn fat by accelerating your metabolic rate!
If chicken proves to be too expensive for your budget, try turkey breast! In any case, make sure you eat only lean meats and stay away from red meat!
Fishes are also very good for quick weight loss. Fishes such as salmon and tuna contain Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids fall in the category of ‘good fats’ or unsaturated fats. You gained weight because of a hormone called leptin which stores fat inside your body. Omega-3 fatty acids will cut down on leptin; when that happens, you are bound to lose weight!
2. Olive oil:
Replace your fatty oil with olive oil. Olive oil is almost free from the ‘bad fats’ (saturated fats) and contains a considerable amount of unsaturated fats. These unsaturated fats will not only suppress your appetite but also fight cholesterol. In short, olive oil will keep your cholesterol levels down.
3. Berries:
Berries are also good for weight loss. There are several types of berries: blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, etc. All of them will help you with weight loss in one or the other way. Strawberry is especially the best among the berries: not only it tastes good, but also helps in suppressing your appetite.
Once you get rid of hunger pangs, you can focus more on your weight loss goals and less on eating!
As you can see, you really do not need to starve, just because your want to lose weight. A lot of people tend to starve or go on crash diets. However, nothing beats eating and losing weight.
I firmly believe that if you eat the right foods, you will not only lose weight but also become healthy. Additionally, the foods I mentioned above are also rich in vitamins and antioxidants.
Please remember that these are not the only weight loss super foods that are available to you. Other foods such as nuts, oatmeal, eggs and almonds can also help you with weight loss. Add these foods to your diet and see how quickly you are able to get rid of your fat belly!

Don’t Make Dieting For Weight Loss More Difficult
The more difficult you make your weight loss diet the less likely you are to stick to it and succeed.
If you are constantly having to think about your diet throughout the day and keeping account of all the foods that you eat and the calories that you arecounting then it becomes very difficult to maintain for the long-term and eventually those types of diets result in failure for most people.
Keep your weight loss program simple and you will achieve a lot better resultsbecause it allows you to get on with enjoying everyday life without having to think about food and cutting back on your food for all of your waking hours.
Even mention of the word diet has negative effects for many people because it immediately places restrictions on their lifestyle.
There are plenty things to contend with in modern day life without having to constantly keep a track of what you’re eating although you do need to be aware of the types of food and the portions that you are consuming because this is what determines whether you gain or lose weight.
Healthy weight loss can be achieved quite simply by just reducing by small amounts the portions that you have at each meal even if you don’t change the types of foods you are eating.
This is generally the best way for people to start dieting as it doesn’t require anything that is too difficult and too hard to maintain for enough time to see results.
Once people see results from the weight-loss program then there is an incentive to carry on and do better and particularly if these results have come about by using simple techniques that haven’t burdened the enjoyment of life.
Before you start on any diets consider the consequences and how it will impose on your life and whether you have the type of personality that will allow you to maintain what is required for that particular program.
