Crash Diet

Some people view a crash diet as the perfect way to quickly lose weight. Others think this kind of dieting is too extreme for them.

Which one is right?

There is no doubt that crash diet will help you lose weight because you restrict the amount of calories that you take in. However, you can also be depriving yourself of the nutrition your body needs.

Some people take crash dieting to the extreme that they begin to starve themselves. You certainly will lose a lot of weight very quickly when you do this.

However, that may not be very healthy depending how long you do it for. If you’re going to do a crash diet you need to get off of it after a few days. Do not make the mistake of staying on this kind of a diet for long periods of time.

The downside to crash dieting is the person who loses weight almost always gains it back. Your body begins to conserve calories because it is afraid of starving.

You do not learn life long eating habit changes when you crash diet. Therefore you generally revert back to your old ways of eating and gain the weight back almost as quick as you lost it.

How to Increase your Metabolism for Faster Weight Loss

Boost your metabolism to lose weight faster

When summer knocks on the door and the days are getting warmer, weight loss is one of the hottest topics and goals. Some people now would like to lose weight quickly and easily. But, it can frustrate those who work hard, yet still have not seen the results they want.

Now, here are a few ways that you can increase your metabolism to achieve success.

What Is Metabolism?

Metabolism is the rate at which your body uses the calories in the food that you eat. There is a common misconception that thinner people have faster metabolisms and obese people slower ones.

Food is the fuel for the engine that runs your body. Just give it the proper fuel and it will run like a well-oiled machine. When you give it too much of the wrong stuff, it can clog up the engine and slow down the machine. What most people want to know is how to speed up the metabolism.

When you eat too many calories, the body will store them as fat, if not enough calories are burned during daily activities. It’s just that simple.
There are two possibilities to handle this:

One, you can consume less calories. Fewer calories means less excess to turn into fat in the body.
Two, you can burn more calories. This is accomplished by ramping up your daily activities. Include exercise at least three times a week.

Tips for Boosting Your Metabolism

The body burns calories to perform regular maintenance at the cellular level. This is one reason why you should not to eat less than 1,000 calories a day. Any less and you are hindering the body’s efforts to keep you working at an optimal level.

Without enough fuel, the metabolism can come to a halt. It’s the starvation principle. Attempting to preserve itself, the body will hold onto fat stores when food is not available. It doesn’t know that it really isn’t starving and nothing will convince it of that fact except eating more food.

Eat several times a day. As a child, most of us were taught to eat three square meals. However, to get the metabolism revved up, eating every 2 or 3 hours is essential. Constantly giving the body something to process stokes the fire.

Include protein in each meal. It helps reduce your cravings between meals. Protein is also the main component of muscle tissue. The more muscle tissue your body has, the more fat it burns even at rest. So, this is a good reason to get started with a regular workout program.

Don’t go without breakfast. After a fast of about eight hours (you were sleeping), the body needs something to get the metabolism off and running. You could be setting yourself up for a sluggish metabolism all day if you don’t eat even a small bit of food within an hour of when you wake.

Are you ready to win the battle of the bulge? Here are some tips to help you keep your metabolism high at all times.
